"Enid Barber, 83, one of the most distinguished educators in the area and a New Johnsonville
resident, has published her autobiography Cotton Fields.
The book details Barber’s life from her earliest memories through 2004.
Pam Baird helped edit the book. Baird is a former Waverly Central High School (WCHS) teacher
and librarian.
Cost of Cotton Fields is $25. A portion of the proceeds from sales go toward the 21st Century
Education Foundation, which provides scholarships to HCCHE which have benefited some 250
students. Barber has been a member of the foundation for six years, and has served as chairman
of the foundation for the past three."
